How to Block Popup Ads on Android – Have you ever been bothered by popup ads that suddenly appear when you’re accessing web pages in browsers like Chrome or Firefox? The team has tips on how to block popup ads on Android.
There are two ways you can do to block popup ads on Android. First by using the settings in the browser and the second way is to use a third-party application that specifically has the function to block popup ads.
If you’re using the default browser from Android, it’s quite simple. Open the browser, click the menu icon that is usually located on the top right of the screen. Then select Settings. Now, select Advanced from the menu that appears. Make sure the Block pop-ups option is enabled. Starting now, you will no longer see popup ads appearing on Android smartphones while accessing a website using the “native” Android browser.
You can also do this using Chrome. The trick is to open Chrome, then click the menu icon in the top right corner of the screen. Scroll down to search Settings and select the option. Scroll down again and select Site Settings then click the Pop-ups option. The automatic popup will be blocked and also the option will give you Pop-ups Block notification (recommended). But if you want to allow the popup to appear, swipe the notification to change the options.
The Data Saver option is an option to minimize aspects of web pages that are not very necessary when we access them, including popup ads. The trick is to open Chrome and select the menu in the top right corner of the screen, then scroll down then click Settings.
On the Settings menu, scroll back down and select Data Saver. Change the setting to On. To turn it off, change the Data Saver option to Off.
Adblock as we know it has helped us to block ads in PC browsers. Well, now they offer a browser for Android users. This app is already available in the Google Play Store. By using this app, you will no longer see any ads including popup ads.
When we’ve blocked ads in Android browsers and enabled Data Saver in Chrome, but popup ads still appear, this is another way you should do it. If the phone is already rooted, we recommend installing Ad-block Plus that can be found here.
But if not already rooted, you can still use Ad-block Plus but with a few different ways. Open Chrome to access the official site from Ad-block Plus, then download. When it is downloaded, go to File Manager and find the data that was downloaded earlier and click to install.
One thing for phones that are not yet rooted, Ad-block Plus cannot configure network settings, so you have to do it manually by going to Ad-block Plus and clicking Configure in the top right corner of the screen. This app will provide settings for the proxy that should be used in the phone network settings.
Go to Settings, then choose Wi-Fi. Press and hold the network connected to you then select Modify Network. Enable Show advanced options then go to proxy settings and change to Manual. Now input the settings given earlier.
